Baby Shower at Camp Mistwood

Mistwood deserves its own logo

A Compass to guide guests to the baby registry
"Mistwood" actually is the name of the residence where this couple's baby shower took place. So turning it into "Camp Mistwood" was an easy decision! The wood grain paper, Pecan Barque, from Envelopments added the perfect rustic touch in the envelope as well as on the invitation itself. And a few pine needles added that touch of nature to complete the package!

Put a Bow on it and make it PINK Baby Shower!

A diaper baby shower invitation is just so darn cute. This mother-to-be saw the "Bee" themed one that I did and asked for a hot pink bow instead of the bee. Hello! It's a girl so we might as well embrace the pinkness! and all those big bows that little cutie will be wearing. And she wanted polka dots too. Personally, I like the damask and polka dot combo so I carried it out through all the other paper party details.

Feather the Nest... a Baby Shower

nesting bingo was played as the mom-to-be opened her gifts
moss balls, wine boxes, branches and some baby's breath decorate the dessert table

the paper feather, included in each invitation, is a raffle ticket for the diaper raffle
A different theme for a baby shower, that's what my daughter was looking for as we planned this bash for her BFF Kendall. Feathers, twigs, wooden boxes, and of course nests!  The invitation was done in moss green and khaki papers with moss green twine and a real feather. The feather printed paper I used as an envelope liner was a great find at Paper Source. It had a rustic, natural feel to it that lent itself to the theme of the shower. And that is what the feel of the baby's room is as well. The mom-and-dad-to-be have got the cutest nursery waiting for their little bundle. Neutral colors, gray and khaki, are the backdrop but the coolest thing is it even has a teepee in it! I'm in love with this twist on feathering a baby's nest.

Mommy to Bee Baby Shower

the guys got their own invitation, some included with the gal's invitation, some mailed separately

This Mommy to BEE! loves black and white damask. And the hostesses wanted to go with a Bee theme and a diaper so they asked me to put these together somehow and this is what I came up with. I do believe this will be quite a fun party because they asked for me to create some other party paper goods as well.

A couples shower? Well, I think they decided that it was going to be too girlie so their plan for the guys is to go to a shooting range! And drink BEEr. Perfect. Especially because the Daddy to BEE! is a gunsmith. Hence a separate guy invitation needed to be included.

I'll post some other details later!

Babe in the Woods?

Oftentimes I make the short jaunt over to my local paper stores to get inspired, and that's exactly what I needed to do last week. My mission was to come up with an invitation for a baby shower. Not a women only shower but a couples shower so I didn't want the invitation to look completely girlie, but the parents-to-be are having a baby girl! So pink needed to be in there somewhere. My client gave me a couple other pieces of intelligence like "they like the outdoors and they bicycle". Humph.

So I wandered around looking at colors and gift wrap and greeting cards and toys and calendars... and I came upon a wood grain embossed paper! That says "outdoorsy" to me so I grabbed some. Next was to find something pink but not too pink and the rhubarb envelopes caught my eye. Ivory wood grain for the outdoors, rhubarb pink for the baby girl and a touch of brown to make sure the men feel comfortable showing up!

And I think we all remember the rhyme from our childhood "Blank and Blank, sittin' in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage." Therefore the wood grain and the "tree" all came together. And since I was getting a bit silly I thought that everyone would know the words to the rhyme so why not just put in blah, blah and yada, yada instead! My client said "do it!" so I did. Love that wood grain paper! The backside of the invite shows it nicely I think.

Damask

Folks are looking for just about everything in a damask print. Still! Picture frames, totes, dresses, tables runners, invitations and even baby stroller liners are all popular search terms these days. Not only did I design an invitation in damask, I decided it was time to change my header to a turquoise damask too!

Red Baby, Red

A fun custom order came my way! The baby shower will be a red and white polka dot theme so the request was for me to make the invitations in red and white, which is so fun and different. The paper lanterns and the plates were shared with me by my client and then my mind started to imagine what the rest of the party details might be. Red gerbera daises came to mind and then I saw this photo of red velvet cupcakes. Oooooh! I bet there is a yummy wine with a perfect red & white wine label and black cherry sodas that will look perfect on the bar too. I'm in that mood again!

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

Boy oh boy! Recently I've heard of quite a number of pregnancies. And if there's a baby on the way, there's a party to plan... and of course an invitation to send. With these babies on my brain I decided I needed a new one for my etsy.com site. I was reminded of the cute nursery rhyme about what little boys and little girls are made of and that is the subtle background in this baby shower invitation. A simple pregnant belly graphic that I had played around with on a previous baby shower invitation became dimensional and almost urgent!

Rockin Invitation

A Rockabilly themed baby shower is certainly one of the most unique I have ever heard of. I was happy to take on the challenge to create the invitation though. The mom-to-be knows she's having a girl so she requested pink with black & white and I went from there. I know the hostess Jill will have a rockin' good time ready for everyone!
