Wrapping up Christmas
"Brown paper packages tied up with string" were my favorite wrapping thing this year. And printing on old paperback book pages to create the letters for the name bunting was quick too. Some packages had red velvet ribbon simply tied in a square knot, some had a red and green plaid ribbon, and a few had a burlap ribbon with a Christmas-y print on it. All were wrapped in brown paper, of course!

"Favorite Things" Christmas Card
It isn't a Christmas song but somehow has attached itself to Christmas. I'm talking about "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music. The outside of the card has that "brown paper package tied up with string" look. And when the card is opened the text on the tag has the kids' "favorite things". Rave reviews came in on this one.Makes me smile.

A Nautical Christmas Party Invitation
How lovely, a Christmas Party Brunch on a yacht on San Diego Bay. The chances for excellent weather are quite good in San Diego all year long so why not cruise the bay while celebrating the season in December? The color theme for this party is a cheery green, silver and teal which combines "Christmas" and "ocean" rather well. It's is a light and bright feel for a daytime party, don't you think?

| Lovely new Christmas stamp this year! |
Have you enjoyed all the cards that came in your mailbox this year? I like to sit down a few days after Christmas and paw over them again. And read some of the letters that I didn't get around to reading as well. And while doing that I realized I should post a couple cards I did this year. I hope your 2012 was a lovely year and the new year even better!

Eat Drink and be Merry Christmas Party
'Tis the season for parties, that's for sure. And for me it means invitations to create and this one put a couple hole punches to good use. Pretty satin fabric peeks through a large hole punch making for a very pretty singular ornament. And the smaller half-inch hole punch is the perfect size for wine drink tags that match. Eat, drink and be merry!

Cell Phone Case Cookie Exchange Invitation
What 8th grade girl doesn't want a cell phone in a cute alligator case with a touch of bling? And an invitation to a party? The gals invited to this party get both, sort of! And I bet they won't want to miss this Christmas cookie exchange. Envelopments has this great faux alligator skin paper and I am so happy that it comes in green because that helped this green, white and silver themed invitation come together. A shimmery white liner for the cell case printed with snowflakes matches the snowflakes on the shimmery white envelopes. And the glitter paper snowflake hopefully looks like a snap closure on the front. I think it is the perfect finishing touch.

Merry Christmas to All

A joyful occasion, yes, but it was hard to choose just one photo for our card so we went the "montage" route...May your fireside be warm. May your eggnog be cold.
May your stocking be filled with a little lump of gold!
I mean... may this Christmas be your very best
And may your brand new year be prosperous and blessed!

Oh Christmas Cards, Oh Christmas Cards!

We love to get them in the mail. (You're singing it, right?) December brings anticipation each afternoon as I approach our mailbox. I hope this client's friends get a big grin on their faces when they find this fun "twist" card in their boxes. A silly family pose on one side and a classic yet playful quote on the flip side!

A Ticket Invitation with a Christmas Theme

"Blessings with a Bow" was the name of this fun and very girlie event. There were gifts galore for bidding on during the auction but the hitch was that you couldn't use real money, only the "Blessing Dollars" that each woman was given at the beginning of the evening. I was asked to create the ticket which had a perforated stub where each attendee wrote her name and placed it in the raffle box. Many gifts were raffled off instead of auctioned off, and some raffle winners got even more Blessing Dollars. And can I just say that it's sort of fun to print money!!

Christmas Cookie Exchange Invitations

Time to pull out your festive aprons and start baking! Sprinkled with just a touch of red glitter here and there, these very girlie invitations to a cookie exchange party say "fun is in store"! A red silk ribbon helps pull the invitation out of its end flap envelope, like removing a tray of cookies from the oven. The sugar cookie paper is a new one from Paper Source for this Christmas season. I just added some specks of glue and red glitter on it to add some sparkle and to resemble sugar sprinkles. What can I say? Sprinkles are the best!

A Christmas Tradition

We all have traditions. This sweet client invites close friends and family to their traditional tree trimming where folks find themselves stringing cranberries and popcorn, drinking some nog, singing a carol or two and enjoying yummy eats! This red paper with vines is that favorite of mine that I mentioned a couple posts back. If you could only touch through your computer monitor I know you'd love it too!

Cookie Exchange and Christmas

Christmas and cookies go together like Thanksgiving and turkey. It's a tradition in so many homes this time of year and once again I've had the pleasure to create a Mother-Daughter Cookie Exchange invitation. It's a similar creation to the gift bag invitation in my last post. Thanks to Paper Source for the gingerbread wrapping paper and baker's twine that covers the "box" of cookies. Well actually, the box with tissue and an invitation inside!

Let the parties begin!

LOVE being busy with Christmas party invitations! And I fell in love with this lovely paper from Paper Source that is red with gold-ish/khaki-ish vines and white accent flower buds. I've used it twice so you'll see it again in another post soon. It's a nice twist on Christmas colors without going crazy! For this invitation I decided it would be a fun and casual gift bag that the invitees will open. In my pile of gift bags to reuse I've got a few that have a cuff at the top of the bag so this is my rendition of those.
