A Random Party and a Random Invitation

'Pebblestone' is what we call our outdoor place for parties
All the random reasons for the party spelled out in the invitation
I can always count on my son-in-law Bill to dress in the theme colors
Pink with just the right red looks great together
Sometimes I look for an excuse to throw a party but this early fall party was a request of my daughter's. She and her husband were going to be in town visiting from Denver and she had just turned the big 3-0. Of course we'll have a party!

Paper Source had a screen-printed paper that I couldn't resist earlier in the summer, a pink and red pennant bunting print, so that became the theme for the party and the paper I used for the invitation. I couldn't figure out exactly what I wanted the invitation to say, so... well... I just wrote the words like I was leaving a voicemail message and then ended with the date-time-place-rsvp stuff. Casual and fun, the invitation and the party!

Sixty... and a Not So Serious Invitation

What school does David go to? The University of Sixty!

Wave your pennant and Go Team David!  I've heard from the party hostess that  great reviews have come in for this two-sided pennant invitation. The birthday boy is a Michigan man and probably has a variety of collegiate Sparty-wear but the guests of this fun sixtieth birthday party will come in their own school colors and cheer David into his 60s. Some classic tailgate type food is planned and no doubt there will be plenty of beer and pom poms too!

Halloween Dinner Party & Pumpkin Carving

Yikes! It's time to start the planning another spooktacular party. Actually, I'm not into the scary stuff. I just like that Halloween-time is an excuse for a party. A pumpkin carving party is a casual, no-costume-required affair but that doesn't mean that the cute details are forgotten. No! One must have drink tags, favor bag tags, and maybe a bit of bunting to direct your party-goers to the treats (dessert table)! These details coordinate with the invitations that I designed a couple years ago. I've got a little something else up my sleeve for this year. I'll be back!

Hitched!

Wedding signs are the rage. Cute wooden ones that say "Mr. & Mrs.", bunting that spells out "Love is Sweet", a pennant that says "Yay!", and even some that say "Hitched". It seemed like the perfect word for one of my recycled jeans pennants. Darn cute!

Upcycle Madness! Denim Pennants!

I have not lost my mind. But I am in a recycle/up-cycle/re-purpose/renew kind of mode. It started a few weeks ago when I decided I should go through my closet and toss some dust-collecting clothing items into a give-away bag. I ran across a couple pair of jeans that have really gotten to that frustrating point. You know. They are great when you put them on right out of the dryer, but sit in them for an hour and the tush area is saggy? Baggy? Just what I need!

But denim is precious somehow. I couldn't part with the jeans, I had to recycle them. So here goes. Denim wedding pennants. I think this will be a great prop for wedding photos, a fun bridal shower gift, a cute wedding ring carrier for a ring-bearer (tie those wedding bands on the ribbons!), and something fun to decorate the newlywed's home.

I'm working on another one with red glittered "Love" and I think it's gonna be too cute too!
